Our body temperature increases or decreases if we have any diseases harming our health. When any bacteria or virus enters our body, our immune system gets active and our lymphocytes get themselves ready to fight with that virus or bacteria.

No, our body temperature can be low or high at the time of fever. Some people can also be affected by a decrease in body temperature which is called to be the Hypothermia. In adults, Body temperature below 95°F can be a sign of hypothermia whereas in Children body temperature could be below 97°F. Hypothermia has a miserable effect but can be treated so easily.

How long can fever last?

There is no actual schedule for how much time it takes for fever but according to the researchers, in adults a normal fever can last for 2 to 3 days. In the case of periodic fever it may be up to 14 to 15 days. Periodic fever works on come and back criteria so there is no definite time for this type of fever. Fever is dangerous on its way when our body temperature increases 103°F and above and you should call your doctor for treatment. On the other hand, above 108°F can cause brain damage to our body so it’s better to take prevention. Other organs that can be affected by high fever are the heart, cardiovascular system, and mostly the brain. Having a mild stage of fever that is 108°F can sometimes cause death of the affected person.
